$92.14 For Dinner And My Husband Lost His Hat:
We went to dinner at Ruby Tuesday’s in Lexington, Virginia to celebrate my husband's birthday on the return leg of our summer trip. We ordered steak with rice and green beans as you can see in the photo. The steak was decent but it was very expensive for what you get. We paid $92.14 for three of us and a takeout for our dog. Also the restaurant was rather dim inside. On the way out my husband lost his hat. No one could find it. It must have fallen into some dark corner of the restaurant.
The Only Hotel To Provide A Yellow Duckie To Adopt:
The hotel in Lexington, Virginia was obviously fancier than your typical Best Western. I suppose that was why it was a Best Western “Plus” at Hunt Ridge, though I've stayed at other "plus" hotels that didn't deserve the title. They thought of every little detail including a fancy breakfast buffet in the morning with plenty of seating and your very own little yellow rubber duckie to float in the tub or the sink. Our six inch bears loved it and have adopted it. Right now it sits in my kitchen in a cabinet with glass doors. As I write I'm looking right at it. P.S. As you can imagine, the hotel was pet friendly. We brought both a dog and a cat.
Olive Garden, Abilene, Texas provides the perfect lunch for people on the go. Here is what we always order: a big bowl of minestrone soup with ground up cheese to your liking accompanied by lots of warm bread sticks. The bread sticks are delivered by a waiter who is willing to give you as many as you can eat. If you like you can order a small spaghetti or pasta with it. But really the big bowl of soup with cheese and bread is plenty for lunch along with iced tea.
